Montana Sholars was born and raised in Sweden, but she has dedicated the last 10 years to training and teaching in the United States. She graduated from Long Island University where she received her B.F.A in Dance.

While in pursuit of her career as a professional dancer, she fell in love with education. Ms. Sholars taught dance and figure skating across the world throughout the years to students of all ages. She states, "there is something special about seeing their skills, confidence and curiosity grow, which is how ActivMinds and her first book "Desi-Mae and The Things to Say" came to life.
